Being a videographer located in Sandusky Ohio, and growing up here my whole life I am bound to know some of my couples on a personal level. With Katelyn and Zach that is definitely the case. So course I was excited for their Sandusky centric wedding!
13 Years in the making
This is a special one because I know these two personally. Katelyn has been my wife’s best friend since they were little. So of course I was ecstatic when Katelyn approached me about doing her and Zach’s wedding video! I always gave Zach crap for waiting thirteen years to purpose to Katelyn! However after shooting their wedding video and getting to spend the entire day with them I knew that thirteen year wait was not only worth it but one of the greatest gestures of love I have ever seen. The wait made this day hit on another level, it gave the a weight and gravitas to the whole wedding and more importantly their eternity together!
The power of video
You see as a wedding videographer we get to not only tell the story of the wedding day but tell the story of the whole relationship. Video allows couples to see the emotions from multiple angles while being accompanied music and beautiful editing. A wedding videographer takes images and puts them in motion to make you see a story unfold just like a film.
The Couple
Zach- There is nothing Zach loves in this world more then Katelyn, the city of Sandusky it a close second. Before we even had our first consultation I knew the city Zach loves was going to be one of the biggest backdrops for the video. Zack is a proud blue streaks grad, who loved his career as a drummer in the band. Zach now works for the Sandusky School district in some job I tried to understand but I definitely do not haha. Zach’s dedication to the city that raised him translates perfectly to his dedication to his now wife.
Katelyn- Oh Katelyn, where to even begin. I have known Katelyn for as long as I knew my wife. They have been like Peanut Butter and Jelly since day 1. Their friendship is stronger then any I have seen. From homeschool prom to Winter jam trips they have done it all together, with Zach and I tagging along for the ride. If I had to describe Katelyn with one word it would be caring. From the way she supports all the people in her personal life to the way she supports her patients at work as an occupational therapist its something I am sure will be a strong asset to their marriage.
The Day
The Weather
Anyone that lives in Ohio, specifically on the lake knows that weather can be incredibly unpredictable. So when the team and I were loading up the camera truck in super thick fog we knew it would be a dun one. Luckily the fog did not last and it dissipated into a beautiful soft haze for the day. This made for beautiful images and comfortable weather. Being a wedding videographer overcast is actually incredible lighting so this was ideal!
Zach wanted to start the day with his boys at a local barbershop. Hall of Fame is a Sandusky staple, with big beautiful windows it made shooting here no problem. John the owner was also super chill with us coming in with tons of cases to shoot so huge bonus there.
Katelyns House
Katelyn got ready at her and Zach’s house. This cute little yellow house was packed with love from all of her ladies. From her best friends to her mom everyone was their to support. Walking through the door you could feel the overwhelming love from everyone. A huge shout out to her makeup artist Brigit! I have been shooting wedding since 2016 and I have never seen a make up artist support a bride like this! Not only did she do a great job she actually followed us to location so she could fly in and do touch ups as needed. Please do yourself a favor and check out Lena Bows for your wedding. I have been a wedding videographer for almost ten years and I have never seen a makeup artist serve her clients like this.
The Big Moment
When it finally came time for the ceremony, the church was packed out with friends and family. You could feel the excitement in the air. As a wedding videographer I have been in this scenario many times times, but this one felt special. When the doors flew open to reveal Katelyn you could see the rush of joy on Zach’s face, this was the start of the rest of their lives.
The Party
